My First Blog

To my Blog readers, hello and welcome. This Blog was iitially posted under the Journals Tab of this site. Future Blogs will appear with separate URLs on a Blog Page, and possibly also under Journal until everything is running smoothly.

Creating this website might be the most challenging step in my journey of independently publishing my book series. I’ve learned so much; I’ve moved forward and backward, but each step is a building block of knowledge. My purpose, of course, is to introduce you to my book.

I hope you might be reading this for information about PASSAGEWAYS. It’s a novella that follows three personalities through their own journeys that converge, presenting each with inner and outer conflicts. Those outer conflicts can affect all life on Earth and beyond. The personalities are diverse and unique. You’ll meet beings unlike any you might have encountered in prior science fiction or fantasy.

As I write this, Project Design, Inc. is working on the formatting, interior and cover design for PASSAGEWAYS. While this work is being done, I have a little time to explore and prepare means of communicating to readers information about the book. So, first, a website is necessary, and I wanted to try my hand at using Squarespace that facilitates building your own site with its templaces, procedures, and step-by-step instructions. Doing it myself makes it easy to update, correct any glitches, etc.

I’m not a web designer, coder, or programmer. The most complicated digital work I’ve done is creating Powerpoint presentations using images, text and links, with varied designs to the pages, for use in college courses I taught. My basic navigation button pages are done, in a very simple way, and they contain pertinent information that will be updated when new information is available. Setting up the Blog is a little more complicated for me. If you have difficulty with it, I apologize. I’ll keep working to make it as easy to use as possible. Until it’s running smoothly and easy to access I’ll continue to also post new Blogs under the Journal Tab.

That’s it for today. More to come soon.
